Our music teachers strive to give people of all backgrounds, ages, and skill levels the time, attention, and consideration they need when learning their instrument. We believe that our teachers and students can grow from working together and listening to each other during their music lessons.
Creativity
Creating is a fundamental human value. When we create through music, we can discover more about ourselves and about those who inspire us more than we ever thought possible. Our music teachers value this artistic spirit in their music lessons to grow that creativity in all of their students.
Nurture & Inspire
We aim to create a comfortable safe space for our students to grow as musicians and people. Whether that's through having flexibility to work with your instructor to discover the music that most inspires you, or learning the skills that put you on the path to becoming a more creative person. We hope to empower them through their music-making abilities!

ABOUT
We are the Portland Music Collective, a group of expert Portland musicians and music instructors in classical music, jazz, and beyond. As a local organization of independent music teachers, we are dedicated to providing our students with opportunities to learn a variety of instruments and disciplines. We believe in the value of music education to enrich the hearts and minds of people of all ages. Learning a musical instrument is a joy students can experience for the rest of their lives.
Whether you are a full-time student in need of a private classical instructor or a new musician looking to improve and grow with a tutor, our group has a place for you. The Collective provides our teachers with affordable teaching spaces and a community of likeminded artists. We love to provide musicians of all ages and skill levels with the tools they need to grow!
The teachers of the Portland Music Collective offer in-person music lessons out of St. Paul Lutheran Church, located in Southeast Portland at 3880 SE Brooklyn St.
